Inesc presents its metodology about budget control in Netherlands

Publicado em Jul 05, 2011 09:59 AM

Its the first time the institution was invited to contribute to a European country. Information was passed on budgetary control.

Instituto de Estudos Socioeconômicos (Inesc) team was in the last two weeks in Amsterdam, Netherlands, to participate in public lectures, workshops, attended by community leaders and city officials, as well as meetings with other agencies and dutch authorities. During the conference the organization presented the methodology of budgetary control developed by the institution. This is the first time the organization was invited to contribute to the method in a European country, but has already shared information on the subject in countries in Africa and Latin America. The work was presented by Iara Pietricovsky and Atila Roque, members of the Collegiate Management Inesc, and the Institution’s political adviser, Alexandre Ciconello.

The methodology developed by Inesc analyzes all principles and international treaties, the constitution and laws which apply in a country to see whether the government, at the municipal, state and federal funds intended to ensure that all citizens have access to all rights provided as education, health, leisure and culture.

In an interview to Radio Netherlands Worldwide, Iara Pietricovsky estimates that budget cuts will affect in the life of a dutch citizen. "The dutch are beginning to realize that they are quite distant from decision-making criteria of the public budget. Now they live in a time of deep cuts in this budget, which will affect their lives and they do not know what to do".

Iara believes that the process of political awakening in countries in Africa, Latin America and Europe is of extremely importance. "We help get rid of these stereotypes. What moved us in that call is exactly the reverse situation, it means that we have something positive, purposeful, quality to present dutch society. I think with great degree of humility, but recognizing our capabilities, we can build another world", said Iara Pietricovsky with emotion.
